Here is a useful trick to mount folder to My Computer as a drive. There are some files and folders that are frequently accessed and worked on and if these folders are located deep inside an organized folder structure then its a bit inconvenience to navigate to the location every now and then.
To access such folders quickly a user can map folder to the “My Computer” and work with the folder more conveniently as it saves a lot of time to browse folders and you can just focus on your work. You can mount any folder as a drive irrespective of the folder location. This is a great method to quickly access the most used folders with a click.
Personally i have mounted my office files and projects folder so it makes a lot easier for me to access and work on the files. No need to dig into deep folders to open a file.
Mapping Folder as a Drive to My Computer
FolderDrive is a free utility for windows that will help you mount and manage such folders with ease. With this utility you can assign drive letters to folders and add more or remove them anytime.

The interface is simple, just click on Add Mapping button. Now select any drive letter and browse the path to the folder to be mounted. Check the box that says Make Permanent and click Ok.

The mounted folder will be mapped and added to the FolderDrive utility and also visible in the “My Computer” as a drive. The folder can now be directly accessed. The mounted drive is just like a shortcut to the folder which is visible in my computer. By default the drive name is localdisk but it is adviced to rename it to the relevant folder name for easy identification.
