Google Chrome Sync Data Security
If your computer OS is reinstalled or you bought a new computer then you can install chrome and personalize it within a few minutes with a simple google account sign in. The google chrome sync also provides encryption as an option if you are concerned about the security of your data. When enabled the data is encrypted using cryptographic key and then sent to the google servers and vice versa, but by default the passwords are always encrypted even if you dont use this option.
Never ever sign in to google chrome sync if you are using a public or untrusted computer, since all your personal web browsing data will be accessible to other users on the computer. If you unknowingly signed into google chrome on a public computer then you will need to delete the synced chrome data & the user from settings immediately.
Go to Chrome settings > scroll down to Users and click “delete this user button” to safely remove the data from that computer.
How to enable Google Chrome Sync
To enable google chrome sync, click the chrome menu
on browser toolbar & click sign into chrome.
Enter your google account details and sign in. Now a ”Confirm Sync Preferences” dialog box will appear like below.

Here you can choose to sync everything or choose specific items to sync by clicking the advanced button. The advanced button will show you options for syncing like below:

Select the checkbox for each item you want to sync, whether to encrypt only password or all data and finally choose you own encryption paraphrase if your are too concerned about the security. Click Ok to save the settings.
Whenever you wish to sync google chrome settings and data to a new computer you will have to follow the same procedure but optionally you can choose to sync everything or selective items to that computer.
